Ingredients

  • 1 (2.1-ounce) package HORMEL® Fully Cooked Bacon, finely chopped
  • 1 cup finely shredded Cheddar cheese
  • 1 large egg, beaten
  • 1 (15-ounce) package refrigerated pie crusts (2 crusts)

Directions

  1. Heat oven to 375ºF. Grease baking sheet.
  2. In bowl, mix bacon and cheese.
  3. Unroll pie crusts onto cutting board. With 3-inch round cutter, cut as many circles as possible from each crust.
  4. Place 2 teaspoons bacon mixture in center of each pastry round. Fold over until edges meet evenly. Gently press edges closed with tines of fork (dip fork in flour if it sticks). Place empanadas on baking sheet; brush with egg.
  5. Bake empanadas 10 to 15 minutes or until golden brown.
