Enjoy a homemade version of this traditional family favorite.

Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup fresh or frozen diced onion
  • 1 tablespoon butter
  • 6 cups water
  • 2 tablespoons HERB-OX® Chicken Instant Powder
  • 1 1/2 cups frozen mixed vegetables, thawed
  • 1 (10-ounce) can HORMEL® Chunk Breast of Chicken
  • 1 1/2 cups wide egg noodles
  • Salt and pepper, to taste

Directions

  1. In large saucepan, sauté onion in butter 2 minutes or until softened. Add water and bouillon; bring to a boil.
  2. Stir mixed vegetables, chicken and egg noodles into saucepan. Return mixture to a boil; reduce heat. Simmer 10 to 12 minutes or until noodles and vegetables are tender. Season with salt and pepper.

Notes

  • For Vegetable Noodle Soup, substitute HERB-OX® vegetable flavored bouillon for the chicken bouillon. Omit chicken and increase frozen mixed vegetables to 2 cups. Stir in 1/2 cup canned diced tomatoes, if desired.
